The Peak, Lorne
The Peak is one of those gems you stumble across, and don’t look any further…

The Lorne Country Club boasts views of Lorne that you just wouldn’t know existed. After driving up the hill and parking, you walk a short distance to the courtyard (and putting green) and your jaw drops. Because you are high in the hills - higher than you imagined - among the gum trees, and the whole bay is visible, pier included. There is a tropical colour explosion.

The beautiful club house itself, feels like it floats over the green hillside of the golf course. An expanse of glass and a panoramic view adds a ‘wow’ factor whilst dining, or during sunset speeches.

Long clothed tables, with elegant white chairs, are often lined beautifully with native flowers. Overhead, fairy lights hang in between timber beams and old trophy boards. The vibe is very wedding, but also homely - especially for anyone fond of a club house on club night.

Now how about that ceremony further up the hill!? Because somehow, the club house isn’t the peak! Up here you can get married on the fairway between the tall gums.
Ceremony up the hill
Once the ceremony wraps up, the stunning location, surrounded by grass, trees, and ocean, give options for family, bridal party, and couple photos. Bit sunny? Pop in the shelter of the trees for photos. Or just get in the sun for glory shots with an ocean backdrop.

Cocktail hour at the peak
As a photographer, I love The Peak. It generates spectacular imagery all day, and there are so many couple photo opportunities. If you don’t want to leave the party, you don’t have to. There are many spots, on the hillside and among the trees, for a variety of shots without stepping a foot off the premises. And for sunset shots, well, let’s just say you are in for a treat!

If, however, you are a couple that wants to get a bit more out of your photography, or perhaps would like to enjoy some sand between your toes back at sea level, then Lorne is your (or my) playground. That said, just five to ten minutes down the road (quite literally), you’ll find a quiet unfrequented rocky reef over looking the bay of Lorne - a favourite of mine for sunset.
