Rocklea Farm, Stonehaven

If you love the Australian bush, ancient gums, beautiful sunsets, and a rustic vibe, this could be the spot for you.

Ceremony setup below ancient river gum

My wedding bookings once dodged Rocklea Farm, which - after seeing stunning pics constantly appear on their socials - made me even more desperate to get there. It was well worth the wait, and is now one of my favourite venues. I even get to be a guest there next January!

My first experience at Rocklea was a memorable one. It was a Monday wedding, and a nearby farmer undertook a rare burn off in the evening. The result was a sunset like none other - deep red and smoky - and one the lucky couple will surely remember for years to come!

Sunset burn off

Why do I love Rocklea so much? I love the beauty of rural Australia, and this place has got those vibes, whilst conveniently only being based a short drive from Geelong. Plenty of local wildlife too! Rocklea feels like a proper escape, and this makes for a great day with family and friends.

Couples can be married under a stunningly unique ancient river gum, and then enjoy reception in the rustic barn - and old sheep sheering shed - backed by a beautiful courtyard perfect for sunset drinks with guests.

Rocklea also have regular vendors/services you can tag on to enhance your wedding experience - including pop up bars, lawn games, large marquees and more.

Abigail & Mitchell - May 2023

Dave & Glen (who are absolute legends) would boast - and rightfully so - that you don’t need to leave the premises to get awesome wedding photographs. This is good news for any couple not wanting to miss a minute of their big day.

Entrance to Rocklea Farm at closing hour

Rocklea is blessed with some pretty special sunsets, plus an array of gnarly old trees making for EPIC shots. Dave has an attention to detail, and not only does the converted barn and courtyard always look stunning, but he even mows paths into the long grass for sunset strolls, helping us photographers get the shots you’ll love - thanks Dave!

Evening stroll to Dog Rocks, Batesford

If you don’t mind a quick 20-30 minute break from guests on your wedding day, Rocklea is also right across the road (quite literally) from Dog Rocks, which I frickin love! Have a stroll around these rocks in the lead up to your wedding, if nothing else; I find them to be quite spiritual at sunset.

Danielle & Jonte - March 2022

I could go on and on about Rocklea Farm, but have a look for yourself…
